ACTOR

My name is Katarina (with the rolled ‘R’ rolled) and I am an actress and filmmaker living in LA and NYC. I was born in Bratislava in ex-Czechoslovakia. My mum's a doctor, my dad was a scientist, my brother a math genius… and then, there’s moi : ) with my wild imagination and creativity. Overachiever that I am, I studied at Moscow Theater Art School, Russia and Business Management School at Comenius University, Slovakia. I moved to the US and worked my butt off to get my first theater break as a lead in Girl’s War at New Repertory Theater in MA shortly after and I’ve been working in TV, film and stage both in the US. and in Europe ever since. I am fluent in French, Italian, Russian, Czech and Slovakian and have studied with Larry Moss, Ivana Chubbuck and Jon Sperry to name a few. One more thing… I fly small planes and adrenaline runs in my blood!

Recent work includes:

I play “L” in a new show starring Brett Cullen, Big Dogs is available on Amazon and Tubi.
I’ve received several Best Actor Awards for a lead role in Rendezvous around the globe. Kuddos to my co-stars Chris Kerson (True Detective), David Scott Lago (The Young & The Restless) and Francis Jue (Broadway).
My new comedy Married Young is now available on Amazon. I play Katrina, who causes a bit of a trouble in the young couple's paradise, David Fynn (Undateable) & Vanessa Lengies (Glee).
The Knick, Cinemax Mini-series, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starring opposite Clive Owen.
The Gilded Red Cage, one-woman show, performed at The Tank and La Mama in NYC and at the Edinburgh Theater Festival, received great reviews.
Adele's Heart, a critically acclaimed play by an Italian writer and director Giampiero Rappa, with which I’ve returned to Edinburgh Theater Festival.

STORYTELLER

In addition to my acting credits, I’ve co-written and co-produced several shorts and a few feature films including The Journey of a Dragonfly. I’m currently developing two TV shows and a feature film. I also have an extensive background in advising start-up and early stage companies on fundraising and strategic planning.

LEAD

I am proud to be able to use my voice as a female leader in a new Hollywood while acting and creating stories in the film and TV medium that inspire, entertain and challenge audiences around the world to think outside of the box and connect to their authentic selves.

I dedicate time to raising awareness around social issues and organizations focused on empowering young girls and women and work with the Plus 421 Foundation. Through personal experience overcoming eating disorders as well as sexual abuse, I strive to help others through these challenges and by being an example of someone who can overcome anything she sets her mind to.
